StoreCore Material storage

StoreCore is experienced in the specific requirements of storing and maintaining geological samples, including their handling. Databases in either MS Access or MS Excel are used to log details and location of all material; however other packages may be used or tailored as necessary. Updates may be provided on a regular basis or at any time on request.

In summary:
  • Materials are stored in an appropriate manner, taking into consideration the nature of the material. All material is palletised, wrapped and placed on Industrial Racking in secure, temperature controlled warehouses. The racking system that StoreCore uses is able to accommodate any pallet size, removing the necessity to re-palletise material on arrival.
  • Procedures have been developed to enable tracking and management of all movements of material. Material is only handled by trained Technical Personnel who have an appreciation of the value and delicate nature of the material. An associated quality procedure exists to ensure compliance
  • StoreCore is able to assist Data owners in complying with any legislation and initiatives regarding the management of sample material. (e.g. in the UK, PON 9)
  • A maintenance program is available to prevent degeneration of material over time. Any degeneration is recorded on the database and recommendations made for remedial work; reboxing etc
  • Repackaging materials have been sourced knowing particular usage requirements. e.g. oil resistant packing tape is used.
  • Specific procedures have been developed to cater for large scale material transfers (Physical and virtual).
  • A dedicated, fully equipped Viewing Facility is able to provide inspection of 1000ft core/resinated core at any one time. Additional capacity is available if required. Technicians are available to assist in any core movement/sampling. Alternatively, material viewing can be arranged at an alternative location.
